Our Commitment

Raven Metabolic & Hormone Health is committed to ensuring that this website, ravenmhh.com, is accessible to all visitors, including individuals with disabilities. We work to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing process. We actively review and improve our site to remove barriers and improve the experience for all users.

Measures We Have Taken

In building and maintaining this site, we have taken the following steps to support accessibility:

  • High-contrast text and background color combinations throughout, meeting or exceeding WCAG AA contrast ratio requirements
  • Semantic HTML structure using proper heading hierarchy (H1, H2, H3) to support screen reader navigation
  • Descriptive alt text on all images, written to convey the clinical and contextual meaning of each image
  • Keyboard-navigable site structure with logical tab order
  • All buttons and links include descriptive labels — no generic "click here" or unlabeled elements
  • HTTPS encryption across the entire site
  • Serif typefaces (Cormorant Garamond and Lora) selected for legibility, with Georgia as a universally available fallback
  • Responsive layout that adapts to mobile, tablet, and desktop viewports
  • Form fields include visible labels and required field indicators

Known Limitations

We are transparent about the following known accessibility limitations on this site. We are committed to providing alternatives and to addressing these limitations over time.

Patient Inquiry Form — External Redirect
The "Begin Your Inquiry" button directs users to a Google Form hosted externally at docs.google.com. This is necessary to ensure HIPAA-compliant processing of inquiry submissions. Google Forms meets WCAG 2.1 AA standards and is keyboard-navigable and screen-reader compatible. However, the transition to an external window may be disorienting for some users. A notice is provided on the page informing users they will be directed to a new window before they click.

The Raven Brief — PDF Format
The Raven Brief is available as a downloadable PDF. While the PDF is text-based and readable by most screen readers, it has not been fully audited for PDF/UA (Universal Accessibility) compliance. If you require an accessible version of The Raven Brief or encounter difficulty accessing the document, please contact us directly and we will provide the content in an alternative format.

Standards and Guidelines

This site aims to conform to the following standards:

  • WCAG 2.1 Level AA — Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative
  • Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act — Federal standards for electronic and information technology accessibility
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) — Title III requirements applicable to places of public accommodation, including websites
  • New York State Human Rights Law — which prohibits disability discrimination in places of public accommodation

Assistive Technology Compatibility

This site is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver (macOS and iOS)
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
  • High contrast display modes
  • Voice recognition software including Dragon NaturallySpeaking

Feedback and Contact

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of this site. If you experience any barriers, encounter content that is not accessible, or require information in an alternative format, please contact us directly. We will respond within 5 business days and work to provide the information or assistance you need.
